Some pictures from our walk yesterday. You could duplicate these sights and more easily. We parked on Blake near 36th, very close to the new light rail stop. There was quite a lot of parking along the street with no time limitations. We turned left on 36th and walked to Larimer, then turned south. Keep looking in front of you, to the sides, and backwards and you'll see street art on almost every wall, even in the alleys. Vibrant colors, well executed subjects...many steps above ordinary graffiti The beautiful church is Sacred Heart. At 25th we turned left and walked to Arapahoe. Another left and several blocks past lots of original houses, and then a quite new development which replaced the old Curtis Street projects. About 30th we went right one block to Curtis and then south again past beautifully restored mansions and cottages, and well tended gardens. Lots of places for lunch and coffee along Larimer. We ended up at The Preservery, just a month old, at 30th and Blake. Delicious fried fish cheek sandwich! |
