Sigrid Freese -
15 of us enjoyed a nice, and active morning hiking up Butler Gulch. The first mile or so from the parking area is on an old road, rutted and pretty steep that passes through forest. Every opening was filled with flowers. A couple of easy streams to cross at this time of the year. Once you enter the high basin, the views are wonderful and the terrain not as steep. With all the snow and rain earlier in the year, flowers seemed to very close to their peak, later than usual. |
