Great coffee (and tea) in out of the way places

Leslie's daughter (who works for DPS) about the Emily Griffith coffee shop at 18th & Lincoln. sounds like DPS cutbacks have put in danger this coffee shop which trains students for jobs in the work force. Help if you can with a small contribution, or stop by for coffee if you're in the vicinity.
from Emily's coffee
Emily’s coffee is notable as all the workers are recent refugees who are enrolled at Emily Griffith and the program not only teaches them how to be a barista, but also allows them to practice their English!

The Wisdom Tea House in Monument
Thanks to google, Judy Marks made a serendipitous discovery of the Wisdom Tea House in Monument, located on 2nd Street.
We all came in, ordered quickly and within 15 minutes tea, French press coffee, salads, scones, cakes etc started to appear in a big room up a narrow flight of stairs. Delicious food and the best service I've ever seen for such a big group in a small place. Sigrid 7/2015 |
