Perfect day...nice trail, beautiful fall colors, wonderful companions. This should be a peak weekend for a drive on your favorite aspen roads. The North Ten Mile trail is just west of Frisco at I-70 exit 201. The first mile is the steepest, but not too bad and then the trail levels out and climbs gradually to our destination, 3.5 miles in at the crossing of the Gore Range Trail. No bikes because the boundary of the Eagles Nest wilderness area is just 2 miles in. The trail doesn't get high enough, at least as far as we went (10,500) to give spectacular long views, but there is plenty to see along the way. And it's a great wild flower trail in the summer. The trailhead parking is often busy on weekends, but today there was plenty of room. There is a portapotty on the other side of I-70, about a 5 minute walk. |
