Hardwood Floor
Our contractors for our house used Bob Mohr of Al's Floor Service, and he was terrific.

Basic estimate: done by sq footage: $2,823 My downstairs a little over 1,000 sq feet
Extra stained areas $150
Remove and reinstall furn $500. Able Moving Services. I don't recommend the moving folks. Kept hinting for a tip and saying they were only getting paid $10/hr and I am sorry that I fell for it . They also broke my elevator door and it took a while to replace. I didn't think they were very careful or thourough,
The floor guys may ask you to go elsewhere for a few days. I talked them into letting me stay upstairs and really didn;t mind the fumes as opposed to a few days at a Marriott. I think you are all on one floor,so your deal may be quite different. Do think my floors are now great. Well worth the expense.

Guys Flooring has done my floors twice. Once to put in 10 years ago and two months ago a total refinish after water damage. Very good. Helen Shreves 6/2015
We just had ours done in kitchen and stairs. Beautiful job. We had Andy from Nicholas Policio's Hardwood Floors. 3038825002. Email [email protected].

Depending on how you want the floors finished, I have a great guy who did my son’s and my floors.
We chose not to have polyurethane on them but rather went with a finish called Magic Oil. You can
read about it here: http://www.pallmann.us/products/product-search/details/magic-oil-2k-2003/
We find it looks great and is easy to care for if you follow the directions . . . use very little water!
The guy who did ours is a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work. Don’t know how he charges for
refinishing . . . in each of our cases we had existing floors and new areas. He installed the new and refinished
all to match.

Call Marty Wukich at Alpine Flooring 3-884-8020 www.alpineflooring.com.
He’s usually a 1-man crew, tho he sometimes hires helpers.
His work quality and ethics are AWESOME. He put in new flooring next to the “old” flooring after one of our floods. You absolutely can’t tell the difference.
He’s typically very busy and often slow to call back. If you need to call him 2-3x, it’s worth it. He’s a master….and a nice guy.
Use my name along w. my husband’s, Mike Jalving. I think he’ll remember our house cuz of the floods.

Tile Floor
The son-in-law of good friends recently did a great job installing a tile floor for us and I thought I'd circulate his name for anyone looking for help with renovation, finish work and/or home repairs. He's also a good Handyman. In addition to doing good work, he's reasonable, personable and very reliable.
